MR. BLUE (composer/performer: "Summer In America") a/k/a the Band Leader from "Stella" (hosted by David Wain, Michael Showalter & Michael Ian Black) is a professional con man. Last fall he sweet-talked his way into "Wet Hot American Summer" by writing, producing and performing the old-school rap song "Summer In America," along with his partner and hip hop legend Chubb Rock. In 1998 he swindled himself a small role in John Hamburg's "Safe Men," co-starring Richard Bolster.
Blue recently pulled the wool over Jay-Z's eyes and was therefore hired to write the feature, "Death of a Dynasty," for Polygram Films. At this year's Sundance Festival, Mr. Blue teamed up with the venerable Peter Salett, magnanimous Craig Wedren, and magnificent Amy Miles to form the "Wet Hot All Star Band." Expect a tour this winter.
In his spare time he DJs dope-ass parties throughout New York City.
